Wilburn Steven “Bill” Rice passed away peacefully at his home in Merrit Island, FL surrounded by family members on October 28, 2023. He was born April 19, 1939, in Datto, Arkansas to parents Dewey “Wid” and Nova (Stevens) Rice.

Linda Parks

Linda Lee Parks, 71, of Pocahontas passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, at Arkansas Continued Care Hospital in Jonesboro. She was born July 5, 1952, in Oelwein, Iowa to the late Paul and Betty Westcott Kruger.

Pocahontas honors veterans with flags

Veteran’s Day is fast approaching, and as people drive through the city, they will notice American flags flying. These flags were donated by individuals and businesses who wanted to show their patriotism for our country and honor our veterans, both past and present. The vision for this project was presented to city leaders by the VFW Post 4556 and the Auxiliary, and they received support from the community.
