Studio for the Arts, Inc. takes center stage

George Bernard Shaw stated, “Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.” This makes the current mission of the Studio for the Arts, Inc. more pertinent than ever. Arkansas has only fifteen community based performing arts and centers offered for its 3 million plus residents. In 1991, there was less than that when The Studio for the Arts, Inc., a non-profit based in Pocahontas, AR first began touring the state as part of The Arkansas Arts Council’s Arts On Tour Roster. Their first tour was a music revue, “An Evening with Andrew Lloyd Webber”. Since that time other performances were added as well until the demands and focus of a full time dinner theater encouraged the organization to “stay home”.
