DALE LEWALLEN

Dale Lewallen, 91, of Pocahontas, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at St. Bernard Medical Center surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 19, 1933, to the late William Adolphus and Carrie Dobbs Lewallen in Alicia, Arkansas. Dale was a star basketball player at Hoxie Schools. He served in the US Navy for four years and reserves for four more years. In 1957 he married the love of his life, Marbra Jean Long Lewallen. They were married for sixtyseven years and eight months. Their marriage was blessed with six daughters, Lesa Lewallen, Karen Jansen, Cindy (Joe David) James, Sarah (Dwayne) Carlson, Lori (Jim) Bergman, and Jeanie Lewallen and one son, William Dale “Bubba” Lewallen Jr. Dale owned and operated a full-service gas station, Lewallen’s Exxon for over twenty years. He was known for running an honest and dependable business with very clean premises.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his precious wife, Marbra Jean Lewallen; his beloved son, William Dale “Bubba” Lewallen Jr.; brothers, Wallace Lewallen and Dennis Lewallen.
Dale leaves behind his daughters, Lesa Lewallen, Karen Jansen, Cindy (Joe David) James, Sarah (Dwayne) Carlson, Lori (Jim) Bergman, and Jeanie Lewallen; as well as thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 7:00 PM Thursday, January 2, 2025, in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, January 3, 2025, in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel, with Kevin Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers, while granddaughters and greatgranddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers.
