EARL L. DAVIS
On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Earl L. Davis “Junior” passed away peacefully. Earl was born on January 21, 1936, in Maynard, Arkansas, where he learned the value of hard work cutting trees by hand for the family sawmill. He loved his sisters, who helped raise him, and his brother Kenny. Earl attended Arkansas State before earning his degree from Michigan State and served as a Captain in the Army Reserve after an ROTC scholarship. Graduating from St. Louis University School of Law in 1965, he went on to serve as mayor of Bridgeton, Missouri, from 1967 to 1971. Known for his warm smile and hearty laugh, Earl made everyone feel welcome. He enjoyed sharing a beer with friends and maintained a love for the outdoors, cutting trees with his lifelong friend John Talbot well into his later years. His kindness, loyalty, and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew him. Beloved son of the late Earl and Jessie Davis. Dear father of Jane (Neil) Eskuri, Grant (Amy) Davis and Julie (Peter) Strand. Loving grandfather of Luke, Harper, Lucy, Cooper, Jack, Jonas, Jeremy, and Alexandra.
Dear brother of Vada Hardy, Shirley Detraz and the late Ouida Hicks, Verneal Bohn and Kenny Davis. Our dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle and friend to many.
