Janis Marie Hawkins Dust, 75, of Sikeston, MO passed away peacefully in her home on March 18, 2024. She was born February 4, 1949, in Randolph County, AR to the late Eskine and Laura Stacy Hawkins. Janis was a proud member of Poplar Bluff Garden Club. Her favorite pastimes were working in her flower gardens and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Ben and Vida Hawkins and George and Lula Stacy; and brother, Marshall Hawkins.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ed Dust; son, Mark (Nancy) Dust; daughter, Libby (Todd) Craig; grandchildren, Alyson, Andrew, and Austn Dust, Harison, and Jackson Craig; sisters, Ginger (Harry) Rosenzweig of Bowie, Maryland, Judy (Floyd) Forrester of Pocahontas, and Marcella (Mike) Davis of Pocahontas; sisters in law and brothers in law, Rita Dust, JoAnn Manis, Mary (John) Jackson, Roberta (Dan) Waymon, and Raphael Dust all of Pocahontas, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 11 AM-1 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 1 PM with John Jackson and Charles Long officiating. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to the American Cancer Society, your local animal shelter, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
