Freda “Ivern” Rickelman, 90, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, in her home. She was born on March 11, 1933, in Ravenden Springs, AR, the daughter of Lehman E. and Virgie (O’Dell) Guntharp. Freda married Carroll E. “Rick” Rickelman on May 4, 1961, in Belvidere, IL. She retired from Amerock.

Freda enjoyed word searches, coloring, crocheting, tending to her plants, and watching hummingbirds. She taught ceramics for more than 20 years. Survivors include her son, Ricky (Bridget) Rickelman; daughter, Carol (George) Kite; grandchildren, Shawn (Tabatha), Samantha (AJ), Amanda (Adam), and Daniel (Emily); great-grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Eli, McKenna, Montana, and Colt.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband, granddaughter Kelsey Kite, sister Velma Hutchison, and brother Leon Guntharp.

The service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial will take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
