Ruby Powers

Ruby Maxine Powers, 93, of Walnut Ridge went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2024, at Randolph County Nursing Home in Pocahontas.

Maxine was born on April 12, 1930, in Knobel, Arkansas, to the late George Washington and Lula Mae (Songer) Hefner. She was united in marriage to William Andrew “Andy” Powers on July 7, 1946.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Lula Mae Hefner; husband Andy Powers; brothers James Washington Hefner and Robert Lee Hefner; sisters Ollie Opal Bowman, Gertrude Cupp, and Mary Lou Warrington; infant son Dannie Ray Powers; daughter Regina Lynn Boggs; grandson Marty Powers; great-great granddaughter Everleigh White.

She is survived by a brother Lloyd Hefner of Bono; a sister Eunice Smith of Wayne, Michigan; sons Danny (Nelda) Powers of Crown Point, Indiana, Steve (Debbie) Powers of Pocahontas, and Mike Powers of Walnut Ridge; granddaughters Karen (Brett) Liebhaber of Pocahontas, Jennifer (Michael) Henson of Hoxie, Rachel (Scott) Ritter of Lowell, Indiana, and Jane (Pete) Schiesser of Crown Point, Indiana; great-granddaughters Cheyenne (Daulton) White, Jade Henson, Maddie Henson, Abby Liebhaber, and Layla Schiesser; and great-grandsons Dalton Henson and Clay Liebhaber. She is also survived by many other beloved friends and relatives.

Maxine was a devoted member of Evergreen General Baptist Church and was a faithful Christian. She loved to cook, sew, garden, and be with her family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 1-2 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 2 PM with Brett Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Lorado Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Michael Henson, Dalton Henson, Daulton White, Brett Liebhaber, Jess Barnett, and Chad Barnett.
