Dr Charlotte Power

Dr. Charlotte Walters Power, 68, of Pocahontas passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was born May 6, 1955 in Paris, AR to the late Alice Rebecca Moore McDaniel. Charlotte graduated from Hartford, Michigan High School in 1973. She attended Arkansas State University where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, she then attended the University of Memphis where she earned her Doctorate. Dr. Power was a much loved and respected history professor at Black River Technical College for over 20 years. She also attended Beulah Heights University where she earned her ordination as a Pentecostal minister. She was a member of Pocahontas First Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice McDaniel; stepfather, Spencer Mc-Daniel; uncles, Raymond Moore and James Moore; and aunt, Mildred Pauline Gregory.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, Paul Power; daughter, Robyn Leigh-Ann Morgan of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Julia Delaney Morgan, Abigail Grace Morgan, and Jordyn Spencer Morgan all of Pocahontas; brother, Steve Dyer of Colorado Springs, CO; many other relatives, friends, and beloved former students.

All services will be held in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 1-2 PM with a funeral service beginning at 2 PM with Terry Miller and Sam Chand officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery at Jonesboro.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are: Donna Statler, Kelly Grooms, Butch Dail, David Morgan, Julia Morgan, and Abigail Morgan.

Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Dr. Power’s former co-workers at Black River Technical College.
