Doris Poore

Doris Marie Poore, 93, of Maynard passed away February 20, 2023 at St. Bernards Medical Center surrounded by love.

Doris was born February 18,1930 in Terrell, OK. to the late William Hubbard Shaw and Opal Ester Sexton. She was a member of Witts Chapel Baptist Church. Doris had a great sense of humor. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed crocheting where she made many afghans for those in her church and in her community. While Bemiss served in the military Doris devoted herself as both mother and father to her children. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Hubbard Shaw and Opal Ester Sexton; brothers, Alton Lee Shaw and Dalton Dee Shaw; and maternal grandparents, Pap and Bammie Sexton. Doris is survived by her husband, Bemiss Thadues Poore; children, Debra Louise Crowley of Biggers, AR., Joseph Kent Poore of Corpus Christi, Jerri Melinda (Roger) Simpson of Guys, TN., William Thad Poore (Joy Bateman) of Maynard, AR.; grandchildren, Sean Riegle of Batesville, AR., Jennifer (Robert) Fluharty of Williamston, SC., John (Jessica) Rogers of Michie, TN., Cordell (Andrea) Crowley of Walnut Ridge, AR., Nicole Poore, Alexander Poore, and Steven Poore of Montana, Melissa (Seth) Koster of Maynard, AR., Brandon (Melanie) Simpson of Austin, TX., 11 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

All services will be held in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Dr. Gary Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Maynard Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Sean Riegle, John Rogers, Seth Koster, Delmar Simmons, Terry Redwine, and Rob Samons.

Honored to serve as honorary pallbearers are: Roger Simpson, Cordell Crowley, Robert Fluharty, and Jim Wallace.
