Jerry Daughhetee
Jerry Dale Daughhetee, 70, of Pocahontas, Arkansas passed away on January 8, 2023, with his family lovingly by his side. He was born April 3, 1952, in Sikeston, Missouri to Gerald and Leola Daughhetee. Jerry preceded in death by his parents, sister Janet Eastbourn, and nephew Jeff Eastbourn. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Shelia Daughhetee of the home, son Jeremy (Lizelle) Daughhetee of San Antonio, Texas; son Steven (Sarah) Daughhetee of Frisco, Texas; stepson Blake (LaNae) Campbell of Jonesboro, Arkansas; sister Pam (Jimmy) Graham and brother Terry Daughhetee of Pocahontas, Arkansas; grandsons Peyton, Logan, Dillon Daughhetee, and Toby Burns; granddaughters Brianna Daughhetee, Blakely Campbell, BayLee and JayCee Burns; 3 nieces Kim Eastbourn, Ginny Agee, Kristin Ungerank; 2 great nieces and 8 great nephews. Jerry enlisted in the United States Air Force in December 1970. Airman 1st Class Daughhetee served as a Fuel Supervisor during the Vietnam conflict before he was honorably discharged. He was a proud veteran and supported all things military.
Jerry and his sons were active in taekwondo, all achieving black belts. Jerry started working at the El Dorado casino as a graveyard shift security guard. After years of dedication and hard work, he earned the title as Director of Security where he held that position until he retired in 2014. Jerry was reunited with his first date Shelia and they were married on February 22, 2011, in Reno, Nevada. They made a lifetime of memories together. Every minute was full of adventure, laughter, and love. Jerry was a soft-spoken, patient, kindhearted man with an adventurous streak. “All people die, but not all people live.” Jerry lived! He packed so much life into his 70 years. He was an avid lover of the outdoors. Jerry and Shelia traveled thousands of miles together, taking in all the beauty nature has to offer. They enjoyed cycling on the streets of Reno and even across the Golden Gate Bridge. They enjoyed their time together watching the wild horses near their home, camping and spending time with family and friends. Jerry was a big fan of all things motorcycle. He served as a Corner Marshall for the CMRA road racing circuit. Jerry enjoyed countless days at his son Steven’s motorcycle shop with his grandson Peyton. Papa was his grandson Peyton’s biggest fan and lived to cheer him on during his motocross races. Papa Jerry was an amazing grandfather who always supported his grandchildren in all their activities. All services will be held in the chapel of Hope Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 1:00 pm– 2:00 pm, with the funeral service to immediately follow with David Edington officiating. Jerry will be laid to rest in Hite Cemetery.
