Darrel Hampton

Darrel Max Hampton, 66, of Biggers, Arkansas passed away September 7, 2022 surrounded by family at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro Arkansas.

Darrel was born on March 9, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri to Patricia Mae Hubbard.

He is preceded in death by his mother Patricia Hubbard, stepfather Harry Leslie, Father-in-law James (Cicero) Jones, Mother-in-law Shelby Venson Jones, Brothers Gary Hampton and Bobby Street and granddaughter Morgan Olivia Hampton.

On December 31, 1977, Darrel married the love of his life, Kathy Jones Hampton whom he is survived by. Darrel is also survived by his son Jason (Shauntae) Hampton, daughter Shawna (Alex) Lynch, grandsons Colby Hampton, Leo Lynch, August Lynch, granddaughter Violet Lynch, brother John (Tammie) Hampton, sister Pam (Paul) Wicker and sisters in law Beverly (Dean) Reynolds, Debbie Moore and Tina (Carl) Martin and Scotty Leslie his brother from another mother as they both referred to one another and several nieces and nephews.

Darrel worked for Darling Fixtures in Corning for 24 years. After that, he worked off and on for 20 years at Riverside Express in Pocahontas where he made many friends that he loved dearly. Darrel loved making pizzas and thought he made the best. He always loved meeting people and trying to make them happy.

Darrel was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Arkansas Razorbacks, and he enjoyed collecting sports cards and sports memorabilia, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandkids and spoiling them every chance that he could.

In 2021, Darrel surrendered his life to Jesus and grew stronger in his faith each day. He was also a proud member of West Point Pentecostal Church in Doniphan, Missouri. Serving the Lord brought him great joy and peace.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Jason Hampton, Greg Jones, Joey Moore, Colby Hampton, Leo Lynch, August Lynch and Alex Lynch. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Jones, John Hampton, Daniel Cagle, Josh Cagle, Violet Lynch, Delmer Moore and Brody Morrow.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 10:00 A.M.–1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mc-Nabb Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 1 PM with Pastor Chuck Carr officiating along with special words from Jason Hampton. Burial will follow in Hite Cemetery in Biggers.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to aid with medical and funeral expenses. Any donation monies remaining will be given to the Morgan Hampton Memorial Scholarship fund.
