Glendon Tyler

Glendon Ray Tyler, 87, of the Noland community passed away Friday, August 19, 2022, at Randolph Home surrounded by family.

Glen was born, March 3, 1935, in Water Valley, the last of eight children born to James Rufus and Edna Laura Prevett Tyler. He was a self-taught self-employed auto mechanic at Tyler’s Garage, a beloved regular at 166 Café, and a faithful member of the Noland Church of Christ.

Glen loved his large family and took delight in his grandchildren and their accomplishments. He was a gentle, soft-spoken man of few words, and his friends and family regarded him as godly, loyal, and true. He worked hard all of his life and well into what should have been his retirement years. He enjoyed traveling, eating fish every Saturday night and he never turned down a family gathering.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Rufus and Edna Laura Tyler; his wife of 66 years, Travis Sisson Tyler; daughter, Patty Tyler; great-grandson, Cameron Blakey; sisters Naomi Tyler Hogue, Agnes Tyler Mayberry, and Alice Tyler Pace; and his brothers Edward, Harold, Gerald, and Joseph Tyler. Glen is survived by his children, Mickey (Sandy) Tyler, Vickie Pinion, Angie Cude, Ed (Elisa) Tyler, Kevin (Lisa) Tyler, Nathan Tyler, and Jody Tyler; grandchildren, Mendy, Jason, Adam, Hunter, Lori, B.J., Whitley, Amy, Justin, Lauren, Garrett, Kristin, Scott, Brett, Brittany, Alec, Zoe, Morgan, and Zach (Lil Joe); 29 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister-inlaw, Joann Sisson Hulse; brothers-in-law, Leslie (Diane) Sisson, Aaron (Genia) Sisson; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Drew Dawson and to the staff at Randolph Home for their loving care and concern of their loved one. All services will be held Wednesday, August 24, with visitation from 12:00 noon – 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home and funeral service following at 2:00 P.M. with Joshua Dement officiating. Burial will follow in the Noland Cemetery.

Glen’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers, and honorary pallbearers will be his 166 café extended family.
