Frances B. Riga, age 86, passed away March 8, 2022. She was the youngest daughter and last surviving child of the late Joe and Anna (Junkersfeld) Sorg of Pocahontas, AR. Frances attended St. Paul’s parish school. As a young woman, Frances followed several brothers and sisters to Anderson, IN. There, she wed (1953) the late Ivo J. Riga of Jonesboro, AR.

An active member of St. Ambrose Parish, a homemaker and mother of five, Frances liked to garden. She was an avid (some might say ruthless) card player, and enjoyed visiting with family and friends over a cup of coffee. Frances and Ivo returned to Arkansas at retirement. She volunteered with various ministries at Blessed Sacrament Parish. Frances was a member of the Red Hats, several Jonesboro senior social groups, raised chickens to sell eggs, and traveled often to visit her 13 grandchildren.

Frances is survived by her children: Connie Phillips (Dante), Brunswick, GA; Stephen (Deborah), Columbus, IN; Carol McGregor (Joe), Jonesboro, AR; David (Sarah), Gamerco, NM; and Mary Brock (Barry), North Wales, PA. She will be greatly missed by her 24 great-grandchildren, inlaws, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and family friends.

Viewing and Praying of the Rosary was held on March 16, 5:00 – 7:00, at Gregg-Landford Bookout Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held on March 17, 10:30, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Internment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and guests are invited to lunch at Blessed Sacrament following internment.
