Deronda Gail Jackson Luter

Deronda Gail (Jackson) Luter, 80, was called to her eternal home on February 28, 2022. Not only did she see the face of Jesus, but she was reunited with the love of her life, Terrill, who she lost only three short months ago. Gail was born on November 28, 1941 to Ray and Juanita Jackson in Pocahontas, Arkansas, and graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1961.
Gail spent her adult life in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she worked at Hot Springs Foot Clinic for 17 years as a podiatry assistant, then later sold life and burial insurance. Her greatest joy, though, was raising her children, Lisa and Mike (and she would say Terrill at times, as well) and taking care of her home. Not once, even in the midst of juggling work, shuttling to all those ballet classes, baseball games, and school activities, did Lisa or Mike miss a hot meal. It was important to her to have a homecooked meal on the table each evening. She made the best pecan and pumpkin chiffon pie around, and always with homemade crust. She loved to dress up, and never left the house without lipstick (even if she was going to the lake), and despite chronic back pain, flatly refused to wear “sensible” shoes. Her church family and Sunday school class at Hot Springs Baptist Church meant the world to her. She loved deeply, and had such concern for the well-being of family and friends. She kept an evolving list on her kitchen counter of those she needed to check on, or just say “hello”.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Juanita Jackson; brother, Gary Ray Jackson; and husband, Terrill Luter. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Luter Longinotti (Steve); son, Michael Terrill Luter; her grandsons, Stephen Terrill Longinotti (Leah), David Andrew Longinotti (Andie); her great grandson, Elias David Longinotti, and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Hospice Home Care of Little Rock, special friends/neighbors Kent and Sharon Bard, the Burgess/ Colvin Sunday School Class and the congregation/ pastors (Bros. Manley Beasley and Mike Smith) of Hot Springs Baptist Church.
Visitation and Burial was held on Monday, March 7 at Hot Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Hot Springs Baptist Church and Hospice Home Care of Little Rock, Arkansas.
