DON PICKETT JACKSON

Don Pickett Jackson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by his loving family in Bryan, Texas. Born and raised in Pocahontas, Arkansas, Don lived a life marked by faith, family, and service. He was a devout Christian, a proud United States Air Force veteran, and a respected figure in the natural gas industry, where he dedicated over 30 years of his life. On August 7, 1965, Don married the love of his life, Mary Alice, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Cassie and Cara and a proud grandfather to his four grandchildren: Collin, Regan, Rylee, and Morgan. His joy was further multiplied by his greatgranddaughter, Jenny, who brought light to his later years. Don’s commitment to his faith was unwavering, and he was an active member of his church community, where he found strength and purpose. As an Air Force veteran, he served his country with honor and pride, carrying the values of duty and patriotism throughout his life. In his professional career, Don’s work in the natural gas industry was defined by his integrity, dedication, and expertise, earning him the respect of colleagues and friends alike. In his free time Don found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed the outdoors, loved fishing, and was an avid baseball fan. Don will be remembered for his warm smile, generous spirit, and the love he shared with everyone around him. His legacy lives on through his family, who will forever cherish the lessons he taught and the memories they created together. Don is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Alice Manning Jackson; daughter, Cassie Jackson Batson and husband, Lane; daughter, Cara Jackson Horstman and husband, Brian; grandson, Collin Horstman; granddaughter, Regan Batson Benden and husband, Luke; granddaughter, Rylee Batson; granddaughter, Morgan Horstman; and great granddaughter, Jenny Benden. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rector and Jenettia Jackson; brother, Bob Jackson; and sister, Bonnie Jackson Hogard. A memorial service to celebrate Don’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan, Texas.
