CAROLYN SUE HARPER

Carolyn Sue Harper, 72, of Jonesboro, peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on March 19th, 2025 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was bom March 22,1952 in Pocahontas, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Eugene Harper and Nancy Lucille Harper, sister Bonnie Rickman, and brother Clifford Harper.
She is survived by sister Mae and husband Olan Samons of the Maynard community and brother Gary Harper of Jonesboro, nephews Tim Samons, Rob Samons, Anthony “Tony” Pierce, Tracy Pierce, Brandon Harper and nieces Connie Venable, Debbie Prince, Cindy Winebaugh, Melanie Ward, Melissa Harper Lamb, Tamara Thielemier, also many great nephews and great nieces, and longtime best friend Debby Escue. Along with her beloved dog Saddie.
Carolyn is a 1970 graduate of Maynard High School. She earned her RN Nursing degree at Arkansas State University. She spent her entire career as a Registered Nurse at St Bernards Regional Medical Center until her retirement, working first in orthopedics, then in the intensive care unit and finishing in the nursery. She was a nurse at St Bernards Regional Medical Center until her retirement. She was an active member of the Greensboro Road Church of Christ.
She is remembered for the loving time, attention, and care which she gave for her parents. Similarly, she gave for others in the family as well, with loving care for her siblings, nieces and nephews. Carolyn dedicated her life to caring for others and the ones she loved. She delighted in new babies being added into the family, and was always present for weddings, showers and family gatherings. Known lovingly as Aunt Sue, Aunt Carolyn or Granny Sue to all.
Having no children of her own, she earned a special place in the hearts of many, whether related or not, as Aunt Carolyn.
All services was held in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas. Visitation was Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 6:00 8:00 PM. Funeral was held Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Terry Joe Kee officiating. Burial will follow in Maynard Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Maynard Cemetery Fund or the Harper Cemetery Fund.
