CLETIS NEECE
Cletis Rosalan Rickey Neece, a beloved wife, mother, Memaw, and devoted church member, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the age of 91. She was born on July 31, 1933, in Delaplaine, Arkansas, to the late Harry and Hazel Martin Rickey. Cletis shared a remarkable 74 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Eldridge Neece of Pocahontas.

A Randolph County man was taken into custody and sentenced to 30 days in jail after being found in direct contempt of court for recording court proceedings through a courtroom door window.

AVON NEAL McCAMEY
Avon Neal McCamey, 81, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025 at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center. Avon was born on August 9, 1943, the son of the late George A. McCamey and Etta Viola Shocklee McCamey in the Ingram community.
Pocahontas soccer sign ups are now underway
The Pocahontas soccer sign ups have begun. You can register online at pocahontassportsandrecreation. sportngin. com or go to Pocahontas City Hall and turn in forms Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 pm. to 4 p.m. Cost is $50 per player. League is for ages 3 to 12 and goes by a player’s age as of August 1, 2025. Last day to register online is August 3 at midnight and last day to register at City Hall is August 1 at 4 p.m. There will be no late registrations accepted.
