ProMed Ambulance earns prestigious designation as Pediatric Ready Ambulance Service

ProMed Ambulance is proud to announce its official recognition as a Pediatric Ready Ambulance Service by the Arkansas Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) program. This designation places ProMed among the top 5% of ambulance providers in the state and makes it the only service in South Arkansas to receive this distinction.

Kiwanis of Pocahontas collecting books for children

The Kiwanis Club of Pocahontas is holding a book drive to collect books to share with children. They will be collecting books till August 29 for the age range of 0-11. Books may be brought from home, purchased from yard sales or flea markets and taken to any drop off location. Locations are Dr. Ungerank Chiropractic, First National Bank of commerce, Radiance Tanning or Farmers & Merchants Bank. The goal of the drive is to encourage literacy by providing new or gently used children’s books to childcare facilities in Pocahontas.

Pocahontas School District announces summer feeding program

The Pocahontas Public Schools is launching the 2025 Summer Nutrition Program. This program provides free breakfast and lunch to all children 18 years old and younger. There is no cost or registration, just show up. The meals will be provided from May 28 through June 13, Monday through Friday. They will be served at the M.D. Williams Cafeteria with breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. for more information please contact Victoria Pratt at 870-892-4573.

PSD special education records available

Any former student receiving Special Education services at the Pocahontas School District or Pocahontas Preschool, with dismissal from special education or graduation during the 20142018 school year may collect records at the Special Education Office (PJHS Room 201) from June 2 to June 16. Please call ahead so that records can be provided in a timely manner. Any special education records that are not collected will be destroyed.
