Tate Manufacturing’s Divisional Technical Manager Tyler Smith recently toured many of Black River Technical College’s (BRTC) technical programs on the Pocahontas campus. Smith wanted to tour the facility and meet with the welding instructors to discuss the types of welding training and certifications BRTC teaches the students.

The Randolph County Fair has released its schedule of events for the 2025 fair, set for August 25–30. This year’s theme is “The Magic of the Fair,” and organizers promise a week filled with livestock shows, community contests, entertainment and family fun.
The Pocahontas City Council met June 10 with a full agenda that included public updates, departmental reports and discussions on ordinances.

Tuition will increase at almost all Arkansas universities and colleges in the fall. The University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees has approved tuition and fees for the school year that begins in the fall of 2025. The system comprises five four-year universities, several colleges in the medical school, an online university and eight two-year colleges. More than 70,000 students are enrolled. The system employs 28,000 people and has a total budget of more than $4 billion.
