We had to run to Paragould. I bought a lottery ticket and was scratching it off while Mike was shopping. When I purchased it the cashier held it up, closed his eyes and said “I feel this is a winner!” I read the bottom and it said if you got a money bag symbol you won 200X the prize. I scratched off one and got a money bag! I kept scratching and it said $20 and finally 200X. I went nuts! I ran until I found Mike, the whole time yelling what I had won and trying to multiply 20 X 200 in my head. The cashier said “I don’t think we have enough cash to pay that out!” I didn’t care! I handed to the lady there and she nervously scanned it. I was waiting for the “WINNER WINNER” voice but it didn’t say anything. She told me it wasn’t a winner. Upon further investigating it was discovered my money bag symbol was actually a “6”. I didn’t even get to scratch off the rest of the ticket. PSA: Don’t scratch lottery tickets without your glasses… Yesterday I was reminiscing while driving between homes. Thinking about when I would ride to the gas station with Daddy and the guy that pumped our gas always gave me a glass bottle Coke, riding the ferry with John L and swimming in between runs, when a quarter would buy me a whole bag of candy at Sam’s store and when my flip flops were called thongs. A simpler time.
