Clay County Electric Cooperative and its Board of Directors are pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Miiller as the cooperative’s new general manager, effective March 1.

The Pocahontas Aquatic Center will offer water park pool parties in 2025. Parties are offered everyday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The parties will include four on duty lifeguards with access to all three pools in the water park. Parties must be paid in full at the time of booking. Private parties will be $400 with semi-private parties at $250. The semi-private parties are first come first serve on pavilions. Startling pet overpopulation issues - especially cats!

A community benefit will be held on March 15, at 5:00 p.m. at the American Legion on Belleview Road to support River Bridgeforth, who was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma in December 2024. All proceeds will assist the Bridgeforth family with medical expenses and other costs related to his treatment.

Downtown Pocahontas is turning green once again as St. Patty’s on the Square returns on Saturday, March 15, offering a day full of live music, food, shopping and festive fun for the entire community.

After storms rolled through the area Tuesday, many residents took to social media to share photos of vibrant rainbows stretching across the sky. The timing couldn’t be more fitting, as St. Patrick’s Day approaches—a holiday that has long been associated with rainbows, pots of gold and the luck of the Irish.
