Pocahontas hosted the 4A-1A East Conference Championship Swim Meet on Monday, Feb. 10 at the Pocahontas Aquatic Center. Other teams in the 4A-1A East Conference include Brookland, Hoxie, Walnut Ridge, and Westside.

You’ll find me cozied up in my flannel jammies, stationed by the fireplace, sipping something warm, and watching birds hurl themselves into my front door window like tiny, feathery torpedoes of poor decision-making. And I can’t help but wonder—do they feel embarrassed? Do they scan the sky, hoping sweet birdie Ethel didn’t see? Is there a bird named Jerry up there, already gathering material for the next bird roast? These are the things I contemplate while avoiding all forms of socialization.

We decided February 18th for pics thinking it would maybe be warmer and green up a little. We just rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon. Moral of the story, if you want snow, let me schedule your listing!
The City of Pocahontas has set the outside Spring Clean-up for the week of March 24 through March 28. The clean-up will be for residential households only. The pick-up day will be the day of your trash pick-up, and all items must be curbside by 7 a.m. that day. The following items will not be included in the clean-up and will not be picked up: shingles, tires, oils/paints, remodel/tear downs, furniture, TV’s, appliances and mattresses/ box springs.
