AGFC conservation scholarships lay path toward bright future
Arkansas students interested in a conservation career may be able to find a little tuition assistance thanks to the colorful wildlife- themed license plates found on cars throughout The Natural State. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commissionâs Conservation Scholarship Program is accepting applications for the 2025-26 academic year until Dec. 31, 2024.
Christmas with Santa date set by Ravenden Springs Fire Department
Ravenden Springs Fire Department will host Christmas with Santa on Dec. 14. There will be a parade to kick off the day at 1 p.m. Festivities will last till 3 p.m. The location will be 143 Upper Janes Creek Road in Ravenden Springs.
Number of whooping cough cases reported higher than last year
Arkansas has reported over 200 cases of pertussis this year, which is at least five times higher than the number of pertussis cases reported last year.
Maynard Saddle Club sets date for awards banquet
The Maynard Saddle Club Awards Banquet will be Dec. 14 at the Maynard Elementary School cafeteria. The officer election will start at 5 p.m. with the awards beginning at 6 p.m. There will be a monthly meeting after the awards at 7 p.m.
