PHS Sr. Boys’ opens season with win in Current River Challenge

With the football helmets and pads put away the 2024-25 Pocahontas Sr. Boys’ basketball season began with a 52-47 win over the Bakersfield, MO Lions in the Current River Challenge at Van Buren, MO., Friday, Nov. 29. Not only would this be the first game of the season for the Sr. Redskins but also the first game for new head coach Chris Pilz, as the Missouri Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame member comes from Waynesville, MO to Pocahontas.

qualifying times and won both the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay. In the 200-medley relay, Abbigail swam the 50 back, Blake the 50 breast, Lauren the 50 fly, and Audrie the 50 free. Their time was 2:24.53 which broke the school record set at their first meet of this season. In the 200 free relay, Blake swam first, followed by Abbigail, Audrie, and then Lauren. They swam a 2:18.16. The old record was set back in 2018 by Elizabeth Grider, Lyndsey Johnson, Chandler Roberts, and Skylar Frazier.

Redskin Broadcasting Network scores big, keeps fans in the game

The Redskin Broadcasting Network (RBN), a volunteer-led organization, has just completed its second season livestreaming Pocahontas football games. Founded by a group of passionate Redskin supporters with deep ties to Redskin athletics and the Pocahontas school system, RBN has become an invaluable resource for fans who can’t attend games and events in person.
