The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a non-profit organization, and expanding its presence in Northeast Arkansas with a mission to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support community education. DAR has dedicated itself to honoring the legacy of those who fought for American independence, and its activities continue to make an impact today.

Written September 17, 2024 It had all been on a whim and almost hadn’t happened, so glad I hadn’t canceled in the wee hours of Saturday morning! I always have second thoughts every time I’m about to leave home, I can’t blame it on age as I’ve always been this way. More than prompt Pam was at my house at ten to six, and the old bag lady that I am, my bag was loaded in the back of Pam’s car quickly.

I grew up attending what I would call a “basketball school.” With the exception of track, while I was in school, basketball was all that was offered. So, at Delaplaine, basketball was our football—our “Friday Night Lights,” you could say.
