Attention: PHS Class of 1974

The Pocahontas High School Senior Class of 1974 will hold their 50 year class reunion Saturday, Sept. 14 at Rolling Hills Country Club in Pocahontas. Cost for the event and catered meal is $35 per person. The meal will be served at 5:30 p.m. The Friday night before, Sept. 13, the class will be recognized at the Pocahontas Redskin vs. Brookland Bearcats football game at 7 p.m. at Schoonover Stadium. Please make plans to attend and enjoy a time of visiting and reminiscing.

St. Bernards Five Rivers celebrates national recognition honors

St. Bernards Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas recently received five American Heart Association “Get with the Guidelines” and “Mission: Lifeline” achievement awards for demonstrating commitment to following up-to-date, research- based guidelines for the treament of heart disease and stroke. Following these guidelines ultimately leads to more lives save, shorter recovery times and fewer readmissions to the hospital.
