Life is a Journey
I’ve heard they are the heart of the home, and I believe this to be true. My family pretty much were all sitters-at-the-kitchentable people. Mama went to the kitchen early every morning; when I say early I mean hours before dawn. It was her favorite seat in the house, where she drank coffee and smoked cigarettes. It was where she read magazines, her desk where she wrote checks to pay her bills, wrote all those letters home and wrote notes to her kids and grandkids in their birthday cards.
