The following article was submitted to the Pocahontas Star Herald by a proud Pocahontas family. Kyle Baltz, father of Bradley Baltz, wrote: “Bradley attended St. Paul’s elementary school, then graduated from PHS in 2020. On May 23, 2024, he graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and Mathematics and a Master’s of Science in Applied Physics. This fall Bradley will be attending Oxford University in England where he will be obtaining a Master of Science in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry.”
Michael Keith Richardson
Michael Keith Richardson, 66, of Pocahontas departed this life on June 6, 2024, at his home. He was born on April 13, 1958, to Oscar Keith Richardson and Rachel Briant Richardson in Jonesboro.
Larry Dennis Hart
Larry Dennis Hart, 67, of Biggers passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 23, 1956, in Pocahontas to the late John and Retha Meridith Hart.
Frances Clark Duff
Frances Clark Duff, 90, of Pocahontas passed from t h i s l i f e on Thursday, June 6, 2024. She was born March 10, 1934, in Pocahontas to the late Harvey and Hattie Pendergrass Clark.

BRTC Hires Walter Holland as Police Officer
Black River Technical College (BRTC) is pleased to announce Walter Holland of Marmaduke has accepted the position of Police Officer. Holland earned a Bachelor’s in Clinical Science from Arkansas State University in 2005 and graduated from the BRTC Law Enforcement Training Academy in 2023.

BRTC hires Jerri Blue as CEP Specialist
Black River Technical College (BRTC) is pleased to announce Jerri Blue of Pocahontas has accepted the position of Community Education Program Specialist making her the contact person for the Paragould community’s personal enrichment classes. Blue earned an Associate in Business Technology from BRTC in 2014.

BRTC Academic Counselor Towell attends the 2024 ARKAAN Conference
Black River Technical College (BRTC) Academic Counselor Mark Towell recently attended the Arkansas Academic Advising Network Spring Drive-In Conference (ARKAAN) in Hendrix. The conference brings together admissions advisors and counselors from across the state to interact through several concurrent sessions held throughout the day.
