Getting a driver’s license is a major rite of passage in a young person’s life. Depending on where that teenager lives, he or she is likely to secure a license between the ages of 15 and 18. The next natural step is finding a vehicle to get around town.

Pocahontas City Council met Monday, June 10 at 5:30 p.m. Prior to the meeting, Interim Mayor Keith Futrell was formally sworn in as Mayor of Pocahontas by District Judge Alex Bigger.

The Kraken 8U softball team went 3-0 in the Mountain Dew Grand Slam Tournament, held on June 8 in Jonesboro, claiming the Championship Trophy in the 43rd year of the oldest-running youth softball tournament in Arkansas.
