State Capitol Week in Review

LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas families and businesses will save more than $483 million in income taxes next year, thanks to a tax cut passed by the legislature during a three-day special session. Also, Arkansas homeowners will see their property taxes go down by about $46 million because the legislature increased the homestead property tax credit from $425 to $500.

A family story…

So I had my dad with me for nearly two weeks, and it was all good, well almost, but I didn’t know it really wasn’t ‘til he had gone! See here I run ahead of myself as usual! We showed him the town of Lawton. Always on Sundays we ate out, and he had gone to Cache to the little church we attended about 12 miles from Lawton.

Shirley Anne Waymon Reed was born on Wednesday, March 17, 1937, in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Nineteen years and two days after she lost her beloved husband, Dwaine, Shirley passed into heaven during the early hours of Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the age of eighty-seven.
