Danny Swann has announced his candidacy for the Pocahontas City Council Ward 1 Position 2 in the upcoming November election. Swann, a lifelong resident of Pocahontas, brings 45 years of experience in the communication industry to his campaign.
The Pocahontas School Board discussed plans and changes for the upcoming school year at their monthly meeting on May 20. Student meal prices will be rising next year.
The Junior Auxiliary of Randolph County is hosting a Poker Float on June 22, with a registration deadline of June 15. Participants will enjoy a day on the water, with shuttles departing from James Ranch at 9:30 a.m. The $75 per person or $125 per couple fee includes a vessel, transportation, one poker hand and a BBQ box dinner.
