FROM SCRATCH WITH JENJEN
Like I said, I always choose to have Mom make me a dinner of chicken and dumplings with all the sides, and her Red Velvet cake. There is just something about a homemade cake that makes it more personal. The time and effort to put all the ingredients together show the love and care that person has for you. If you were to ask my dad and kids, her chocolate cake is their favorite. My dad gets giddy at the fact that Mom will make him a chocolate cake for his birthday, and he gladly eats the piece right out of the middle with a big glass of cold milk.
