Authorities have apprehended a Pocahontas man following the shooting death of an 18-year-old in northeast Arkansas. Captain Jason Elms of the Paragould Police Department disclosed that 19-year-old Conner Grist was taken into custody after the tragic incident involving Justin Bateson, an 18-year-old from Ravenden Springs.

Janis Marie Hawkins Dust, 75, of Sikeston, MO passed away peacefully in her home on March 18, 2024. She was born February 4, 1949, in Randolph County, AR to the late Eskine and Laura Stacy Hawkins. Janis was a proud member of Poplar Bluff Garden Club. Her favorite pastimes were working in her flower gardens and spending time with her grandchildren.
