Mayoral candidate speaking, debate to be held

will host a Pocahontas Mayoral Candidate Speaking and Debate on Thursday, April 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pocahontas Community Center. This event will allow all three mayoral candidates — Mayor Keith Futrell, Lee Huddleston and Chris Wardlow — an opportunity to address citizens and explain their plans for the city, as well as to answer questions from the community. Similar to the debate held in 2022 for the Randolph County Judge’s race, Mark Holt, who serves as secretary of the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce board of directors, will be the moderator for the event. If you have questions or would like to submit a question to possibly be asked of the candidates, please email us at jfrench@cherryroad.com. All three candidates have been notified of this event.
