Ruth Ann Cox

Ruth Ann Cox, 85, of Pocahontas went to her forever home on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was born December 30, 1937, in Calvert, TX to the late Joseph Cloud and Irene Knapp Cloud. Ruth Ann loved everyone she met because she only saw the good in people. She always had a smile on her face and a song in her heart. Ruth Ann loved serving others in so many ways, whether by being a den mother for the cub scouts, volunteering countless hours as the director of the Red Cross swimming lesson program, helping with vacation bible school, or serving in various capacities at the Methodist Church. She especially loved music and singing with her Methodist choir family for over 60 years.

Council discusses lease agreement during monthly meeting

With a packed agenda at the Pocahontas City Hall, Mayor Keith Sutton called to order the regular scheduled meeting of the City Council promptly at 5:30 p.m. The meeting was attended by several members of the council, including Wayne Broadway, Nathan Camp, Keith Futrell, Rob Olvey, Jamey Sullinger and Kerri King, with City Clerk/ Treasurer Michelle Teel conducting a roll call.
