College football season is an exciting time for sports fans. Each weekend from late summer into early December, teams from across the country lock horns hoping to qualify for the season-ending playoff, which begins on January 1 and culminates with the national championship game on January 8. Between now and then, college football fans can feast on these highly anticipated matchups on the docket for the 2023 season.
Brookland preview
Pocahontas travels to Brookland this Friday night for their final non-conference tilt of the season. The Redskins own an 8-1 record in this series, dating back to the 2012 season, with Brookland’s lone victory coming in 2019. Pocahontas won last year’s contest 47-28.
BRTC to host 9-11 tribute
The Black River Technical College’s Law Enforcement Training Academy, Class 2023B, extends an invitation to the community to join them in a tribute of remembrance, commemorating the 2,977 people who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001, terror attacks at the World Trade Center.

AgHeritage Farm Credit Services has announced the promotion of Bo Tretenburg to Vice President of Lending and Regional Manager and Alan Brannon to Vice President Ag Lending Officer in the company’s Batesville and Pocahontas branch offices. Tretenburg’s career at AgHeritage began in 1996 when he joined as an Ag Financial Services officer at the Pocahontas branch office.

Chase ends in Greene County Cornfield
Two individuals are now in police custody following a multi-county pursuit that concluded in a cornfield. According to officials, the suspects fled from Randolph County authorities on Tuesday afternoon.
