Change – it’s that constant, persistent force that whirls around us, forever pushing us to evolve and adapt. Sometimes it can feel like change has a liking for visiting just a little too often.

Kent Cullum, 61, of Monette went duck hunting for the first time on the St. Francis River with his father when he was six or seven-years-old. The lasting memory set him on a trajectory to the duck calling world championships.

Local authorities, including Randolph County Sheriff Kevin Bell, are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the culprits behind a recent spate of mailbox destructions in the area. The incident, which occurred early last week, resulted in damage to approximately 30-40 mailboxes along Blacks Ferry Road, Clear Springs and Highway 90.
In a recent city council meeting, residents from the Baltz Lake area, raised their concerns about a growing nuisance – the incessant barking of dogs. The issue brought forth a heated discussion at the meeting, prompting Mayor Keith Sutton and the council to discuss the enforcement of the city’s noise ordinance, especially concerning animals.

With a break between the non-conference and conference portion of the Pocahontas Redskins’ schedule, it gave us some time to catch up with the ‘Skins’ first-year Head Coach Casey Chester.
