In Arkansas, we continue to experience pleasant weather for outdoor activities. Although the thought of fall and winter may not be at the forefront of our minds, it is an inevitable transition. Here are some considerations for the forthcoming weather change: For outdoor dogs, it is important to provide ample warm bedding during the winter. Arrange for bales of straw to be used specifically for this purpose. Please note that wheat or rice straw is preferred over hay. Ensure that the straw is stored in a dry location or adequately covered with a heavy tarp. It is essential to prevent saturation from rain or snow, as it would be detrimental to your dog’s well-being.

The Maynard Alumni & Friends Association held a meeting on Monday, May 1 with the purpose of reviewing applications for the Maynard Alumni & Friends Scholarships and the Pau & Shirley Spencer Scholarship. After careful consideration of all the applications and provided information, the officers announced the recipients of this year’s scholarships.
