The Good Earth hosted numerous festivals over the years. Perhaps the biggest and best festivals were held at The E. Sloan Heritage Farm. The farm was accessed through Old Davidsonville State Park, located at the south end and bordered by the Black River. Each year, The Good Earth rented the farm from the E. Sloan family for a set fee. During that time, there was a two-dollar fee per car to enter the park, but it was waived for those going to the farm. I believe the biggest festivals we ever held were those at The Sloan Farm. Just Jana

Over the weekend I went through a drive thru in Jonesboro. I ordered a sandwich and unsweet iced tea. When they repeated my order they said sweet tea so I corrected them and went to the window. They hand me my drink which I have learned to try before I leave the window. I did. It was sweet. I handed it back and told her it was sweet. She said “No it’s not. I just poured that out of the unsweet canister.” I reassured her it was sweet. She takes it back, pours it out and pours me another out of the unsweet container again. Hands it to me, I taste and hand it back. I tell her it’s still sweet. She pours it out, pours me one out of the sweet tea canister. Hands it to me, I taste and hand it back. By this time there’s at least 5 cars behind me but the cashier was on a mission. She said “I’m going to get you an unsweet tea from the lobby. We’re going to get this straight.” What seemed like an eternity and 7 more cars later she emerged with another tea. I took it, tried it and SCORE... It was unsweet. I thanked the cashier for all her trouble, rolled up my window and drove off... Without my sandwich.
