The New Randolph County Courthouse recently welcomed new Randolph County Tax Assessor Krissy Massey to the assessor’s office. Massey brings a wealth of experience from her background in banking, which has proven to be extremely helpful in her new role.

Randolph County deputies received a report on March 1 that a wanted person, Eric W Martin, was in possession of and attempting to sell two motorcycles at a residence on Blackwell Den Road in Northern Randolph County. However, before deputies arrived, Martin had fled the scene with the stolen motorcycles.

Avid fans of America’s pastime are seemingly born with some knowledge of the game’s extensive history, which is an undeniable testament to the popularity of baseball over the last century and a half. As Major League Baseball prepares for yet another exciting postseason, here are some unique moments in the history of America’s pastime.
Allie Davis, a 5th grader at Sloan-Hendrix, has been making headlines with her recent success in the Elks Hoop shooting contest. In January, she won the district level competition for 10-11 year-olds at Highland, and went on to win the state championship in Hot Springs in February.
In a thrilling game that went into overtime, the Lavaca Golden Arrows defeated the Sloan-Hendrix Senior Boys Greyhounds 58-56 in the State 2A Tournament first round game held at Rector. The #1 team in the 2A-4 District, Lavaca had a 31-4 record and had won both their District and Regional Championships. The Greyhounds had an outstanding season, finishing with a 32-6 record and winning the 2A-2 Conference, as well as the 2A-2 District Tournament.
