Around the Kitchen Table with Nanny

Enjoying a beautiful Sunny afternoon, hopefully all the rain is out of our area for a while at least, I’m getting excited now for the warmer day’s ahead. Easter is almost here; spring has arrived so warmer days can’t be too far behind. Though I would add a very different kind of a Ham glaze for you this week. I have not tried this one, but a friend has and liked it.

Just Jana

In June 2000, my sisters and I took part in a “Sibling Study” in Houston. My dad had Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency and we were all being tested to see if we did. My niece, Sydney, was just a baby and we were taking turns holding her in the waiting room while the other two sisters were getting their blood drawn. Jeania was back getting probed and prodded and I was walking around with the baby, waiting. When she finished, she walked back in and I looked at her, still holding Syd and said, “So, now what?” Without missing a beat, she said, “Well, now we wait for the results of who your baby daddy is”, and walked off. This caught the attention of the entire room that up until now had been dormant. As I scanned the room with that “deer in the headlight” look, I realized I didn’t stand a chance of explaining myself, so I picked up the diaper bag, kissed the baby on the forehead, said “Alrighty then” and walked out of there like I owned the place. Fast forward to 2005 and Jeania’s 40th birthday… A 400 pound female impersonator in a hula skirt and a coconut bra sent to her office… All for her dancing pleasure. I’d say we’re even now… ****** Mike: I’m going to bed. Me: Do you mind if I come in there to watch tv? Mike: As long as you don’t turn on the tv, it should be fine. *In his defense, I didn’t specify I wanted the tv on. ****** I was lying in bed early in the morning, having a conversation with Turner. I was loving on him and he rolled over and put his paw on my face. So sweet. I said “You are adorable. I love you so much.” Mike, who was snoring, rolled over and said “Love you too.” He didn’t put his paw on my face but he’s pretty adorable too... ****** A while back I had a friend who went to the doctor and ended up being admitted into the hospital. She called and asked me to go to her house and gather up a few things to bring her and her husband. She told me to go to her closet and on the right side on a blue hanger w
