Around the Kitchen Table with Nanny

The Christmas trees are up and decorated. The wreath is on the door. The Santa letters are written, and the kids are beginning to get excited, daydreaming of what will be under the tree. It’s such a fun time with all the planning to get ready for one of the happiest times of the year. Thinking of all the goodies being planned, shopping and getting ready to start cooking for this happy and fun holiday. One of the main things to make of course are the candies. Redskins receive All-State honors

The Region 4A-3 Football All-State and All-Conference teams were announced earlier this week. The Pocahontas Redskins, who ended their season 11-2, were well represented. PHS players winning All-State honors, as well as All-Conference, are Connor Baker, Caleb Bettis, Reagan Womack and Reed Bigger. OtherAll-Conference recipients are on page 7.

Redskins compete in WBU Tournament

In the semifinals of the 63rd annual basketball tournament held in Southerland-Mabee Center on the campus of Williams Baptist University on Friday night, the Pocahontas Redskins (2-1 record) were defeated by the top seeded Sloan Hendrix Greyhounds (10-1 record) 56-50. The game was hard fought on both sides with the Greyhounds leading 13-11 at end of the first quarter and 24-19 at the end of the half.
