First Arkansas Thanksgiving
Today Thanksgiving is as uniquely American as baseball and apple pie. However, that has not always been the case. In fact, Thanksgiving as we know it today did not come about until 1941 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed a law establishing the official holiday. FDR was not the first president to declare a day of Thanksgiving.
