BRTC’s Outstanding Staff Member 2022

BRTC’s outstanding staff member for 2022 is Jason Crow. Jason is holds the position of skilled tradesman and a Class A HVAC Contractor. He has certifications in Advanced Energy and Control Technology. Crow graduated from Westside High School and continued his education at Delta Technical Institute. He is known for setting an example for others, his strong work ethic, and his kindness. According to the Director of the Physical Plant, “Jason is one of the most pleasant employees at BRTC. He has even been known to plant flowers outside of office windows to improve the view and make employees smile.”

BRTC’s Kasinger Presenter at Conference

In September, BRTC Simulation Lab Facilitator Bridgette Kasinger presented “Augmenting Future Practice Through Use of Interdisciplinary Simulation” at the Simulator User Network (SUN) Conference in Houston. The SUN Conference is put on by Laerdal, a vendor of medical simulation and clinical education equipment. Healthcare professionals and students who at the SUN Conference have a chance to learn about the latest in medical simulation and equipment, participate in hands-on learning, and hear from leaders in the field. Institutions both large and small attend these conferences to share and collect information about best practices, overcoming challenges, and moving forward in complex health systems to enhance learner experiences while promoting better future practice.

BRTC Students attend clinicals at ACH

Instead of working in labs on campus, BRTC nursing and allied health students actually visit hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and other medical locations on a rotation basis. These “clinicals” give students hands-on experience in the hospital setting under the close observation of a working nurse, respiratory therapist, doctor, or other medical professionals.

Veteran’s Day Ceremony Nov 11

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4556 and the American Legion Post #6 will conduct its annual Veterans Day ceremony on Friday, November 11, at 11 AM on the Randolph County Courthouse lawn. Also participating in the ceremony will be members of the auxiliaries of the local American Legion and VFW Post. Master of ceremonies will be Eddie Jones. The guest speaker will be Lee Willard from John J. Pershing VA Medical Center.
