The VFW Post 4556 and its Auxiliary are sponsoring two youth scholarship programs for the 2022-2023 school year: Patriot’s Pen and Voice of Democracy. There are four levels of competition: Post, District, State and National.
Join us for a Ghost Walk and get introduced to the spirits and spine-tingling tales of ghostly happenings! Powhatan Historic State Park is home to several ghost stories, folktales, and legends. Is the courthouse really haunted? What makes the rattling in the jail? Did a ball of light just float by? These ghostly tales may very well be hauntingly true, or more likely just flights of fancy. On September 15, BRTC Foundation board member and NEA Intermodal Executive Director Graycen Bigger was one of 31 fellows across the 8-state DRA region who graduated from the selective Delta Regional Authority Delta Leadership Institute. Each of the eight governors and the federal co-chairman nominate community leaders for the program. The Institute is a yearlong leadership development program for individuals from across the eight-state region desiring to prepare themselves to collaborate regionally and lead change.
