Andrew Jackson Opsahi, 33, of Myrtle, Missouri was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a Class B felony after a Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputy discovered approximately 1/4 pound of suspected methamphetamine in a backpack. According to the Affidavit for Warrant or Arrest, on Sept. 17, the deputy was on patrol on Hwy. 115 heading into Pocahontas in Randolph County when a white motorcycle turned on Pettit Road and began traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy also turned on Pettit Road, increased speed but temporarily lost sight of the motorcycle. When arriving at Herman Trail the deputy observed a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road and the white motorcycle in the ditch on its side. The driver of the motorcycle insisted multiple times he was not injured and refused medical attention. He admitted he was driving too fast after noticing the deputy follow him onto Pettit Road. After checking ID and proof of insurance Opsahi said he had just purchased the 2014 Honda Interceptor and had not purchased insurance.
