Maynard Pioneer Days is looking for their next Pioneer Prince and Princess. We invite all parents and grandparents in Randolph County to enter your children or grandchildren in our contest.

The town of Imboden City Council met for regular monthly meeting at 7:00 PM on September 12, 2022 at the Imboden Fire Station. Mayor Chris Jones presided over the meeting.

The Thursday Night Commercial Bowling Leagues for men and women will start Thursday, September 8th at 7 pm. For more information call Jim Adkins after 8 pm at (870)919-0956.

On September 17, Great Harvest Church is hosting Praise Fest, a benefit to help travel and medical expenses for Dennis Simpkins. Praise and worship teams from First Assembly of God, Great Harvest Church, and St. Paul’s Catholic Church will start at 6 PM. Chili supper will be served throughout the evening, starting at 5:30 PM. Donations and love offerings accepted.

This week I will write about Imboden from the 1920s and 1930s. Last week a former citizen of Imboden and Pocahontas, Ruth Ellen Potter, passed away and was buried in Hope Cemetery.

The Ravenden Springs Library will be hosting their grand opening on Saturday, September 17, at 10:30 AM. We would like to welcome the community to come to the Ravenden Springs school building and celebrate the grand opening of our newly updated library and library holdings. Everyone is welcome.

Put yourself in the place where history happened at Powhatan and join us for a Trial by Jury. You’ll become the judge, part of the jury, a lawyer, or maybe even the accused as we bring a court case from Powhatan’s history to life! No acting experience is needed, but participants should come ready to dive into a historical role in the trial.
