Gospel Revival

Saturday night, August the 27th, at the Full Gospel Revival and Deliverance Center at 207 Ring Drive in Pocahontas, Arkansas. The wonderful Howell Family from Thayer, Missouri will be the special singing group. The services will be starting at 6 p.m. with a time of fellowship. Refreshments will be served after the services. with Mike Thompson The Pocahontas Redskins kick off the 2022 campaign this week with a pre-season scrimmage against the Valley View Blazers. Valley View finished with a 7-4 record in 2021, good enough for third place in the 5A East.

PJHS Redskin Football 2022

Last year’s Pocahon- tas Junior High Redskin team was outstanding with an unbeaten record. A majority of that team are sophomores now and will fill in some gaps for the Senior Redskins. Coach Baty said it is hard to make a prediction on the upcoming schedule because every school is in the same shape the redskins. Transfers, kids dropping out of football, and adjustments from seventh grade football are all factors in the team makeup.

Pat on the Back

School has begun. Today’s kindergarteners are tomorrow’s doctors, nurses, lawyers, physical therapists, librarians, teachers, military, police officers, firefighters, veterinarians, and preachers! They must start somewhere. Learning their ABC’s and 123’s along with their colors is only the beginning of their future lives. Soon they will be learning all those things that will help them with their future careers. I get excited during the first week of school. Not because I have children of my own but when I think of the potential of each child, I am excited for our future. Today’s students may find a cure for cancer or Parkinson’s disease. A student attending Pocahontas school system may be the first astronaut to walk on Mars.
