BRTC hosts guest speakers

During their fall convocation meetings to prepare for the fall semester, two special guest speakers spoke to BRTC employees: Clint O’Neal, the Deputy Director and Executive Vice President of Global Business for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, and Pat Johnson, President of the Board of Directors for the Eddie Mae Herron Museum/ Center.

From the Humane Society….

Recent research tells us that many backyard breeders are breeding pit bulls repeatedly – then dumping them. By the way, what is commonly termed a “pit bull” is NOT a breed; it is a combination of breeds evolving over many years and may include the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, the American Staffordshire Terrier, and the American Pit Bull Terrier. The American Bulldog, the Miniature Bull Terrier, and the Bull Terrier are also sometimes included. It is a TYPE of dog versus a breed.

98th annual Randolph County Fair opens August 29

Preparations are underway to begin the 98th annual Randolph County Fair, set to start on Monday, August 29 and go through Saturday, September 3. A list of scheduled events are as follows: On Monday, August 29, Carnival armbands will go on sale at the Fair Office from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., as well as being on sale at the same time every day following this and will be for sale with cash only. *if carnival is booked
