Lemon Aid Pocahontas girl raises money for cancer research

Ten-year-old Madelynn Moffett, member of the Sun-Maid Board of Imagination, headed a lemonade stand to raise money for children’s cancer research this past Saturday, August 20, and has raised over $4,400 of her $8,000 goal so far. After winning a writing contest to become one of the six board of imagination members for the program’s second year, Madelynn immediately made the decision to partner with Alex’s Lemonade Stand, an American pediatric cancer charity founded by Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who lived in Pennsylvania and suffered from neuroblastoma and decided to raise money for cancer research through a lemonade stand. The Foundation was started in 2005 by Alex’s parents after her passing.
